You’ve all heard of the Mac subculture. You know, that Apple fanboy pack rat who just can’t seem to get himself to part with his Apple IIc, so he turns it into a fish tank or a battle helmet. Through sheer ingenuity, this cult of Mac don’t just recycle their old devices, they reuse, repair, recreate, and re-purpose them. And now, it looks like one man has decided to take the “re”-athon one step further. His love of all things Apple has led him to redecorate his home with 100 Apple computers.
Ranging from the colored iMacs to the original Macintoshes, Jeremy Mehrle of O’Fallon, MO has wired his home to not only display the pieces but also run them when guests come over. They can either gaze hypnotically at hundreds of flying toasters or play a round of StarCraft over the network.
And when their throats get parched, they can head on over to his bar…and just salivate over his 30 Macs that line the bar.
“His bar is made out of 30 Mac Classics arranged next to and on top of each other. Guests can drink at the bar, “but no one ever does,†he said. (Just imagine how much technology could be destroyed with just one spilled drink.) “
Sounds like Mac geek heaven.
Take a bigger bite of this Apple…[link: JournalNow.com article]
